“I heard the song of a bird in flight.  Early morning just through the night.  I did not see the color or shape of the bird.  But the music was pure as ever heard.”

Carol Ann Hollingworth, age 69, of Mount Gilead, was granted her wings on Tuesday evening, December 5, 2017, at home surrounded by her loving family.

On February 3, 1948, Carol was born in Kenton, Ohio, the oldest daughter of eight children of the late Alva and Mary (Keller) Kearns.  She was raised in Morrow County, graduating from Highland High School in the class of 1966.

A week after graduating, Carol married the love of her life, George D. Hollingsworth, on May 27, 1966.  They cherished their 51 years together.

Carol had worked for the Mount Gilead School System as a teacher’s aide for several years.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, George Hollingsworth; two daughters: Teresa (Randall) Hoffman, and Barbara (Ronald) Jesson; four grandchildren: Scott (Casey) Hoffman, Rachel (Bret) LaRoche, Jaren (Kelsey) Jesson, and Emily Hoffman; two great grandchildren: Knox Hoffman and Gavin Jesson, with two more on the way; two brothers: Johnny Kearns and Lloyd (Donna) Kearns; three sisters: Kathie (Chris) Henwood, Karen (Sterling) Boggs, and Connie (Rex) Payne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
