MANSFIELD: Carmine Barretta, 79, of Mansfield passed away Friday, February 3, 2012 in Mansfield MedCentral Hospital.

Carmine was born May 15, 1932 in Mansfield the son of Antonio and Maryangela Michelina (Dolceamore) Barretta. In 1952 he entered the Army during the Korean War and was stationed in England. Three years later following his honorable discharge Carmine married Manetha Miller on August 13, 1955. A good father and devoted husband, Carmine was hardworking and devoted to his family.

Working in Tappan’s Electro Static Department, Carmine retired in 1992 after 36 years. Carmine was a member of the Tappan Quarter Century Club and enjoyed gardening and traveling. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

Carmine is survived by his loving wife Manetha Barretta of Mansfield; daughter and son-in-law Judith and Joe Bush of Columbus; sons and daughters-in-law Carmine and Cheryl Barretta and Steven and Jennifer Barretta both of Mansfield; five grandchildren; sister Angelina Augustine of Mansfield; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Frank, Tony, and Louis Barretta and sister Catherine Ardis.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 6, 2012 from 4-7pm in the Finefrock Chapel of the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services will follow at 7pm. The Rev. Father Gregory Hite will officiate and military honors performed by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail will follow funeral services. Private family graveside services will be held in Oak Grove Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions to St. Peter’s Catholic School may be made at the funeral home.
