Carl E. Moore

Carl E. Moore believed in the Beliefs of Masonic Order. Believing in God, family and his community, he practiced it every day. He passed away Thursday evening, March 3, 2016 at Signature Health Care in Galion after a recent stroke at the age of 90.
He was born January 10, 1926 in Marion and was the son of Lloyd D. and Desta (Price) Moore.
Carl is survived by his wife of 68 years, Arlene Marie (Butterfield) who he married on September, 7, 1947.
He is also survived by his children Vicki (Samuel) DeRodes of Overland Park, Kansas and Keith A. Moore of Galion; grandson Kyle (Kim) DeRodes of Kansas City, Missouri and a great grandson August Benson DeRodes.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister and husband Donna and Marion Kinnamon
Carl graduated from Galion High School in 1943 and attended Ohio Northern University. He proudly served his county during World War II in the Army Air Corps. Carl retired in 1986 from the former Peabody Galion after 35 years where he was a project engineer. He worked as an engineer for Eagle Crusher in Galion from 1986 to 1988.
He was a member Christ United Methodist Church in Galion; Galion Lodge 414 Free and Accepted Masons where he was Past Master and Secretary for 10 years; Galion Chapter 142 Royal Arch Masons where he was Past High Priest and Secretary; 32nd Degree member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus; member of the former Naomi Chapter 47 Order of Eastern Star of Galion where he was Past Patron; Life Member of the American Legion Scarbrough Post 243 of Galion and the Crawford County Amateur Radio Club.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where a Masonic service will be held at 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Penrod officiating in Fairview Cemetery.
Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
