Brenda Parker

December 30, 1950 ‒ October 19, 2019

Mansfield, Ohio

Brenda Rose Parker, age 68, entered Heaven’s gate on Saturday, October 19, 2019, in her Mansfield home with her three kids close by her side. It was the end of a long battle with cancer and she is now at peace with Jesus.

She was born December 30, 1950, in Vulcan, West Virginia and became the daughter of Canada & Arva Collins at the age of five. She graduated from Onatrio High School and worked many jobs over the years all while single-handedly raising her three children who were her most precious gifts.

Brenda was a loving mother who had a vibrant soul, one who literally lit up the room whenever she entered. Brenda had a love of music, in particular, the music of Elvis Presley and enjoyed watching gospel programs on television.

Her daughter, Bobbie, was also her best friend and they loved going to garage sales together to hunt for deals. Brenda also liked to watch the show Family Feud.

Brenda was a member of Bunkerhill Baptist Church. She always kept her faith in spite of everything the world threw at her and above all, she cherished spending time with her kids.

She is survived by her loving children: James (Maria) Parker of Clarksville, TN, John Parker of Mansfield, and Bobbie Parker of Mansfield; granddaughter Camila Rose Parker; and siblings including sisters Bonnie (Mark) Mellott and Betty (James) Riggins.

In addition to her parents, Canada & Arva Collins, she was preceded in death by a nephew Mark Mellott, Jr. and several siblings.

Her family will receive friends 10am-12pm Tuesday, October 22, 2019, in Bunkerhill Baptist Church (3340 OH-97, Butler, OH 44822) where a funeral service honoring her life will begin at 12 noon officiated by Pastor Tom Crank. Burial will follow behind the church in Bunkerhill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to benefit her family may be made at Brenda’s services (please make checks payable to: Snyder Funeral Homes) or sent in the funeral home’s care to: PO Box 3085, Mansfield OH 44904.
