Brenda Kay O’Quin, age 51, of Cardington and formerly of Centerburg, died unexpectedly on Thursday morning, December 1, 2005 at Mercy Hospital in Tiffin.

She was born in Richlands, Virginia on July 1, 1954 to Floyd and Lily (Tiller) O’Quin of Centerburg. Together, Brenda and her family moved to the Centerburg area in 1961 and she resided there until moving to Cardington 3 years ago.

For many years, Brenda attended the Whetstone School in Mt. Gilead and worked for Whetstone Industries with many of her friends. Brenda kept herself quite busy, always making different crafts and jewelry, sewing, or doing needle or latchwork.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brothers: Louie (fiancée Andrea Shuga) O’Quin of Phoenix, Arizona, Michael (Andrea) O’Quin of Mount Gilead, Patrick (Kelly) O’Quin of Cardington, and Kenneth (Jeanette) O’Quin of Darbyville, her sister: Karen (husband Mark Stack) O’Quin of Buffalo, New York, 11 nieces and nephews: Christopher, Karen, Stuart and Cassandra O’Quin, Kate Stack, Kevin, Brittany, Lindsey, Keith, Megan, and Emily O’Quin, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will greet friends on Saturday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at SR 61, Sunbury, where funeral services will be held on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. John Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Bloomfield Cemetery.
