MANSFIELD: Beverly Jeanne “Bev” Milligan, 70, of Joselyn Avenue, Mansfield, died Saturday morning February 22, 2003 in her home following a long illness.

She was born February 5, 1933 in Richland County to Charles and Martha (Carson) Mertler, and was graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1951.

Bev had lived in Mansfield most of her life, and had worked as a registered nurse with MedCentral Mansfield Hospital and the former Peoples Hospital and as a counselor with the former Richland Hospital. She retired in 1988.

Bev was a member of the Lexington Church of Christ, who enjoyed counted cross-stitch projects and cooking.

She is survived by her husband Robert S. “Bob” Milligan, whom she married October 29, 1955; four sons and daughters-in-law Timothy S. and Carla Milligan of Mansfield, Thomas S. and Corinne Milligan and Jeffrey B. and Julie Milligan all of Columbus and David P. and Kim Milligan of Camp LeJeune, North Carolina, but currently stationed with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Middle East; six grandchildren; two sisters Carol Mertler of Mansfield; and Kathy Lynch of Cleveland; and a sister-in-law Barbara Mertler of Mansfield.

In addition to her parents, a brother Charles Mertler preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held Thursday February 27, 2003 at 11 am in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. Pastor T. J. Waters will officiate.

Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society may be made at the funeral home.
