Betty V. Decker

Betty V. Decker, 86 of Delaware passed away Sunday afternoon, August 30, 2020 at the Delaware Court Health Care Center. She was born on July 12, 1934 in Marysville to the late Willard and Beulah (Richards) Poling.
A lifelong central Ohio resident, Betty worked in the Women’s Department at Meijer for many years, and was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. She was a 1953 graduate of Willis High School. She was a no frills, down-to-earth kind of gal who believed in doing things simply and honestly. Betty enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She collected dolls and an assortment of “dust catchers”. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her sons: Larry Decker, and Christopher (Brooke) Decker; daughters: Cheryl (Robert) Sheets, Tina Decker, Cathy (Heath) Christian, Susie (Kent) Dalton, Amy Decker, Kari (John Engel) Decker, and Tamara (Jason) Counts; grandchildren: Craig Decker, Shawn Decker, Tonya Armstrong, Larry Armstrong, Heather Snyder, Eric Armstrong, Matt Decker, Benjamin Adams, Kameron Lowry, Sarah Sheets, Clark Dalton, Morgan Dalton, McKenzie Decker, Bailey Decker, Madison Decker, Brody Counts, and Jonah Counts; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband John “Bob” Decker, daughter Rebecca Armstrong, grandsons: Jamie Bob Decker; Lucas James Counts, Jacob Matthew Counts, and Jereme Armstrong; granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Sheets, and brother William Poling.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 4, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive at W. William Street, Delaware, where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, next to her husband.
