Betty Garber

MANSFIELD: Betty Garber, 91, of South Trimble Road, Mansfield, and formerly of Bellville, died Saturday evening September 17, 2005 in her home following an extended illness.

She was born June 12, 1914 in Bellville to Charles and Anna Mae (Hellewell) Beckwith, and was graduated from Bellville High School.

A homemaker, Betty had lived in Bellville most of her life.

She was a life member of All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, and the AUW, and served the congregation as pianist for the church school. For 14 years she served as a Gray Lady with MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.

Betty is survived by her sons Michael J. Garber of Mansfield, and Gary Lee Garber of Columbus; a brother Wilbur Beckwith of Shelby, a sister Martha Toms of Mount Vernon, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vance W. Garber on January 11, 1982; as well as by a brother-in-law Edmond Toms.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at 11 am in All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, 25 Church Street, Bellville, with Dr. Walter Kania officiating. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church building the hour prior to the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church.
