Bessie Marie Wilson, 92, of Galion died Friday August 3, 2007 in the Galion Community Hospital.
She was born December 21, 1914 in Honaker, Virginia the daughter of the late Charley M. and Elizabeth (Peck) Hess.
Bessie worked as an assembler for ITT in Galion but will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved gathering her family together to revel in all that she had started.
She was a very passionate long time member of the Crossway Assembly of God in Galion. As a member she would help in any way possible, whether she was cooking for a fund raising dinner or folding bulletins at her home. She was also involved in the Oaks of Righteousness senior group.
When Bessie was not helping at church you may have seen her in her garden. She cherished her flowers and was known to have a true green thumb. If there was a particular flower that needed revived you would bring it to Bessie.
She will be missed by her son Chester (Rebecca) Wilson of Pataskala, Ohio; daughters Kathleen (Herbert) Gilbert of Raymondville, Texas, Pauline (Gaylen) Gibson of Grand Blanc, Michigan, and Nancy (Robert) Wagner of Bryan, Ohio; daughter-in-law Jeanne Wilson of Mansfield, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren; a sister Sue Taylor of Middlefield, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Everett Robinson and William J. Wilson; son Riley “Jim” Wilson; 5 grandchildren Teresa Gilbert, Douglas Wilson, Adam Wilson, Shannon Wilson, and Nicholas Gooding; brother Sam Hess; and 3 sisters Flossie Robinson, Margaret Hurt, and Helen Hess.
Friends may call on the family on Sunday August 5, 2007 from 2-5 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home, 76 South Main Street, Mount Gilead. Pastor Dave Clark will conduct services there on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Bryn Zion Cemetery.
