Beryl Schrack, formerly of Mount Gilead, Ohio died late Monday night, May 8, 2006 in the Regent Care Center in San Antonio, Texas.

She was born on December 2, 1920 in Birmingham, England, the daughter of the late George and Beatrice (Badham) Barber. She served in the British Army

Signal Corps during WWII. A loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, Beryl had also worked for the former Union Department Store in Mount Gilead. A member of the First Presbyterian Church, she taught Sunday school for 30 years. Very passionate about art, she was an excellent painter and was also a member of the Morrow County Art Guild.

Beryl is survived by a daughter Judi (Terry) Berridge of Canyon Lake, Texas; three grandchildren Terry Berridge II, Michelle (Thomas) Berridge Scoville, and Matthew (Lucrecia) Berridge; four great grandchildren Jared and Rebecca Hall, Alex Scoville and Christopher Berridge; and a brother Ronald Barber of Toronto, Canada.

Her husband James “Ed” Schrack, whom she married August 19, 1946, preceded her in death on February 14, 2004. Two sisters Nora Barber and Winifred Batchelor also preceded her in death.

Rev. Dennis L. Braun will conduct funeral services at the First Presbyterian Church, 55 North Cherry Street, Mount Gilead, on Saturday May 13, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Rivercliff Cemetery in Mount Gilead. Arrangements are in care of the Snyder Funeral Homes in Mount Gilead.
