Bertha R. Pennypacker

Bertha R. Pennypacker, 85, formerly of Marengo, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in South Bloomfield while surrounded by her family. She was born October 13, 1926 in Covington, Ohio to the late William M. & Catherine (Reiber) Myers.
After 33 ½ years, Bertha retired from Ranco, Inc. as an inspector. Although retired, she continued working in the custodial field and in home health care into her late 70’s. She attended the Fargo Wesleyan Church and was a former 4-H leader. An avid knick-knack collector, Bertha truly loved gardening, having flowers everywhere and giving them to everyone.
Bertha enjoyed crafts, baking and sewing. There was nothing she could not do. She even built the back bedroom addition on to her home when her husband fell ill.
She is survived by her son, Charles J (Penny) Pennypacker of Marengo; daughters, Catherine L. (Larry) Beard of Holden, Missouri; Bonny J. (Benjamin) Arndt; Wilma A. Wickware, all of Marengo; Linda K. (Chris Wyatt) Pennypacker of Mt. Vernon; Ruth V. (Richard Teeters) Wilson of Greenfield Ohio; brothers, Bill (Pat) Myers, George Myers, Ennis Myers; Kenneth (Marge) Myers; sisters, Betty Reiber, Dorothy Myers, Stella Hunter; Mary Myers; Helen Fent; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren with great granddaughter due the 11th , numerous nieces, nephews, friends and her faithful little companion Molly.
In addition to her parents, Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Charles Pennypacker; grandson Christopher Foor and 4 siblings.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 7 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Devore- Snyder Funeral Home, 73 W. Walnut Street, SR 229, Marengo, where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M.
