  • Dale, Brooke and family,

Jim and I are so sorry to hear of Barb’s passing. I have prayed and prayed for her to get better but I guess it was not possible. We are out of state but I will keep all of you in my prayers. Take care of each other and cherish the memories you have of Barb’s as a wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed as my friend and sorority sister.

    Jim and Vickie Young

  • Brooke, I have so many memories of your Mom from growing up. I spent many nights at your house and your parents were always the kindest parents. I would see her around town and she always had a great smile of her face. Thinking of you and your family.

  • Dale, You and Barb have been such a great part of Mount Vernon’s progress and culture, I will so miss seeing you both together at many events. May your memories and God’s grace comfort you.

  • I was so sad to hear of Barbara’s passing! She told me at our 55th class reunion 3 years ago, that she was having health issues. Barb had a beautiful smile and she made you laugh.
I’ve always remembered and admired Barb the day she stood up to Mrs. Herron, our typing teacher. Barb got so mad, she let Mrs. Herron have it during class! Then, Barb marched out of the room and slammed the door so hard that glass fell from the door!!! Barb’s Dad had to repair the door. I sat in the back of the room and quietly applauded Barb as Mrs. Herron was a pain in the toosh! She said all the things I wished I could have said! Guess it paid off to stand up to Mrs. Herron as Barb got a B and I got a D! ha!
I’m so sad to hear of Barbara’s passing! She will be missed by all of us…especially when we have our class reunions!
    Remembering Barb with love!
