Amy L. Walters, age 61, of Mt. Vernon Ave., Fredericktown, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at her residence. She was born December 18, 1942 in Mt. Vernon the daughter of Glendon C. and Sylvia R. (Swisher) Magill. Amy owned and operated Dick’s Muffler Shop in Mount Vernon where she had employed her late husband Richard Walters. She also worked for Benchmark Cabinetry in Fredericktown. She was a 1960 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. Amy was an avid gardener and was a member of the Zeta Lambda Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority where she was just nominated the 2004 Girl of the Year.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Lindy S. (Jerry) Hall Waterbeck of Willard, Ohio and Nancy (Jerry) Bechtel of Utica, Ohio a granddaughter Shelbi Bechtel, a sister and brother-in-law Vickie (James) Young of Marengo, Ohio, several nieces and nephews and many close friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Walters (2004) and a sister Margie Profitt.

Friends may call at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown on Saturday from 1 to 3 PM and 5 to 7 PM. A graveside service will be held on Sunday at 2 PM in Forest Cemetery.
