October 29, 1949 ‒ December 31, 2006
BUTLER: Albert Johnson, Jr., 57, of Stewart Avenue, Butler, died Sunday morning December 31, 2006 in his home following a sudden illness.
He was born October 29, 1949 in Columbus to Albert, Sr. and Juanita Violet (Harler) Johnson, and was graduated from Columbus Central High School in 1967.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Albert had retired from Delta Airlines with 23 years of service as a baggage handler.
He moved to his new home in Butler this past April from Grayson, Kentucky, along with his miniature Pincher Terrier side-kick “Buggie.” Though Buggie kept his attention, she didn’t hold a candle to the love and affection he held for his family, always enjoying just hanging out with them.
He is survived by his daughter Ronda Johnson and her fiancé William Bircher of Fredericktown; daughter Denise Johnson and her fiancé John Born of Butler; three granddaughters Kristina Baumgartner, Erica Baumgartner and Laiken Johnson; sisters and brothers-in-law Darlene and Ronnie Steele and Linda and Rick Laney and brothers and a sister-in-law Timothy Johnson and Dennis and Gerry Johnson all of Grayson, Kentucky; his former wife and lifelong love Kimberly Leichner of Fredericktown; numerous cherished nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister.
The Bellville Snyder Funeral Home is serving the family with a private celebration of his life. Interment will be in Grayson, Kentucky.
