A. Marcella Davis Mitchell, 84, of Galion, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2010 at Olentangy Woods Nursing Center in Galion, after declining health for the last 10 years.

Born Aug. 13, 1925 in Crestline, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Viola Beeman. She was first married to Howard “Bud” Davis and later married Paul Mitchell and he preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of Crestline High School and a member of the First Lutheran Church in Galion. She retired from Galion Community Hospital, where she was a computer programmer and prior to that she worked for the City of Galion.

She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Sandra Bray and Judy and Lonnie Geyer, all of Galion; five grandchildren, Sherri Tinch-Greter, Christa Whitaker, Todd Joy Geyer, Matthew Geyer and Cory Kelly Geyer; 11 great-grandchildren, Trevor and Trenton Tinch, Tara, Teanna and Taelor Greter, Dalton Whitaker, Danielle and Derek Prosser, Kirsten, Christian and Ava Geyer; one sister, Clara Needles of Sulphur Springs and one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Mary Beeman of Bucyrus.

She was preceded in death by one son, David Davis, one sister, Virginia Cress and two brothers, Robert Beeman and Marvin Beeman.

Friends may call one hour prior to services from 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 at First Lutheran Church where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, with Rev. Matt Wheeler officiating.
