December 21, 1926 ‒ January 03, 2008
Winifred “Winnie” Ogle, 81, of Galion died Thursday January 3, 2008 at the Galion Community Hospital.
She was born on December 21, 1926 in Richwood, Ohio the daughter of the late Amos and Stella M. (Laughery) Lyons.
Winnie grew up in Morrow County, living in Marengo before moving to Galion in 1986.
She worked both for North Electric in Galion as a relay adjuster and for Nestles in Sunbury as a bean processing operator, until her retirement in 1991. She would still be working today if her body would have allowed it; Winifred loved to work.
She was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Mount Gilead where she played the organ for many years.
Winnie was a very intelligent woman and enjoyed exercising her mind with crossword and cryptogram puzzles. She would also participate from her living room on “The Wheel of Fortune” and “The Price Is Right”.
She was described as “the most wonderful person you’d ever want to meet”. Winnie may have had an opinion about someone, but she never voiced her judgment.
Winnie touched many lives in her journey and she will be missed by all those who loved her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Alvin on August 14, 1985, her sister, many brothers, and her favorite niece Susie Bedwell.
