Wilma L. Palmer, 92, of Galion passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Mill Creek Nursing Center.

She was born August 23, 1925 in Galion, the daughter of Edward and Vonna (Desenberg) Ginder.  She married Foster Palmer on February 6, 1944 and he preceded her on April 21, 2000.

Wilma was a homemaker, a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Galion, enjoyed bowling, and was an avid Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes Fan. She especially enjoyed traveling with her husband all over the country.

She is survived by son Dale (Carol) Palmer of Rochester, New York; grandchildren, Tyson Palmer, Jacob Palmer and Andrew (Katie) Palmer; three great grandchildren; brother, Harvey (Rite) Ginder of Galion; nieces, Karen (Ed) Sterner, Debbie (Jack) Mullins, Cathy (Rick) Schnelker, Tammy & Dave and Debbie (Rick) Huguenin and nephew, David Palmer.

In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by sister, Danalda Price and brother, Edward Ginder, Jr..

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2018 with Pastor Matthew Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Galion.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.

  • Was so sorry to read about Wilma’s death. I always enjoyed visiting with Wilma when she would come into my office. She was such a sweet person and always so kind. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you.
