Wilma Johnson, age 88, of Oakway Drive, Mount Vernon, passed away on Sunday May 8, 2005 at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born on August 5, 1916 in Knox County to the late Carl and Effie (McKinstry) Hulse. Wilma enjoyed nothing more than spending quality time with her family and friends or walking at the local YMCA.
She is survived by a son, John (Karen Hauptstueck) Johnson of Huber Heights, Ohio, two daughters, Patsy (Fred) Campbell of Mount Vernon, Janet (Ike) Coe of Bradenton, Florida, nine grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, a brother, Charles Hulse of Reynoldsburg, two sisters, June Magers of Galion and Barbara Jean (James) Goudy of Mount Vernon.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years Brice Johnson, a daughter, Virginia Johnson, two brothers, Hoy and Russell Hulse.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 10 to 11 AM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Rev. Jamie Gump will be officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
