William R. “Bill” Pancake

William R. “Bill” Pancake, age 81 of Galena and formerly of Columbus died Sunday afternoon, March 25, 2018 at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.
He was born on April 20, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio the son of the late William C. and Violet (Wright) Pancake.
Bill attended Lindon McKinley high school and was a machinist for ABB for 37 years where they created precision instruments and gauges for space shuttles.
He enjoyed working on cars and was very particular about his yard. He’ll be remembered as a straight shooter and a hard worker.
Bill will be missed by his son Rick of Canal Winchester; daughters Jackie Ann Darst of Powell and Kimberly Pancake; grandchildren Jamie L., Angela M., Jerry, and Jason; great grandchildren Alex, Joshua, Christopher, Ryan Jr., Katrina, Makayla, Nolan, Dillion, Alexis, Jason Jr., Mayson, Payge, and Kingston; great great grandson Kanter; great great granddaughter; and sisters Evelyn Palmer and Marie Clemens.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Marilyn (McCray) and his sister Edith Compton, and brother Charlie.
Friends may call on the family from 1:30-3:30 PM on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 North State Route 61, Sunbury, Ohio 43074. Private Graveside services will take place at Red Bank Cemetery.
