William R. “Bill” Brust

William R. “Bill” Brust, 89, of Upper Sandusky, died Friday June 29, 2018 at his residence following a battle with congestive heart failure. Bill was born December 17, 1928 in Mount Gilead to Homer M. and Isabelle (Haman) Brust. He attended Mansfield Senior High School, and had been employed at Westinghouse in Mansfield, then as manager of Southland Lanes Bowling Center in Marion. He then began his career as a professional baker first at Huddles Bakery in Marion and retired from Tasty Pastry in Upper Sandusky in 1988. Besides bowling, Bill loved to golf, and to go fishing at Lake Erie and in Canada. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Cleveland sports teams and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Surviving are his wife Theresa (Smith) Brust; his children Diana L. (Dennis) Snyder of Mount Vernon, Ronald T. (Kathy) Brust of Odessa, Florida, Cindy K. (Dan) Loeffert of East Lansing, Michigan, and Samantha Eaches of North Carolina; stepchildren Nick (Michelle) Johns and Mona Johns; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great great granddaughter; and sisters Frances Medrano and Shirley Bixler. He was preceded in death by his brother Martin Brust and his sister Mary Jane Eggerton.

The family will hold private services at the gravesite in Marion Cemetery.
