William J. Hovorka

BELLVILLE: William J. Hovorka passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 in Oak Grove Manor. He was 78.
He was born August 10, 1942 in Cleveland to the late Erwin and Helen (Brittian) Hovorka.
On May 25, 1963 he married Jeanna Grupe with whom he celebrated 57 years.
A U.S. Army veteran, William served active duty and reserve for many years.
Bill worked and an industrial electrician for LTV Steel and retired from F. E. Myers Company in Ashland in 2006.
A hard worker and provider, when he wasn’t working Bill enjoyed Amatuer radio as a HAM operator and used his skill as an emergency broadcaster during the blizzard of ’78. He spent many hours in the woods surrounding his home and attended several of Tom Brown’s Tracking School courses in New Jersey, where Bill fine-tuned the art and philosophy of tracking and outdoor survival.
He is survived by his loving wife Jeanna Hovorka of Bellville, children Daniel Hovorka and Joanne Hovorka; and two grandchildren Noel Oquendo and Timothy J. Hill.
Friends may call Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 11am-12 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home were the funeral service will follow at 12 noon. Celebrant Jerry Wilson will speak and burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
