William Bill Weaver, 87, of Galion, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 18, 2012, after a prolonged illness.
Born March 7, 1925 in Marion, he was the son of the late John and Twila Weaver, the second of their nine children. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country proudly during World War II. For more than 40 years, he owned and operated Weaver Home Improvement until his retirement at age 75. He loved fishing, gardening, playing the harmonica, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Ginny Weaver, brothers, John Milton Weaver and David Elmer Weaver, and sisters Anna Mary Brooks and Grace Genevieve Hall.
He is survived by wife Patricia Mullins Weaver; two sons, William Elaine Weaver of Fairborn and John Terri Weaver of Canton; two daughters, Leah Rex Landis of Ostrander and Virginia Jim Ditmars of Caledonia; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Daniel Jeanie Weaver of Indianapolis; three sisters, Betty Martin of Marion, Mable Les Jones of Cuyahoga Falls, and Joyce Douglas Montgomery of Marion as well as nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery on Wednesday, June 20, with Pastor Dallas Waggle and Chaplain Dan Clouse officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Galion. A luncheon with friends and family will immediately follow.
