MANSFIELD: William E. “Bill” Schmid, Jr., 41, of Winchester Road, Mansfield, died, Wednesday morning March 17, 2004 in his home following a short illness of cancer.

Bill worked as a construction framer and drywall hanger and finisher most of his life, and more recently had been working with Benjamin Steel.

Bill had a passion for motorcycles, and loved to take his ’85 Yamaha 750 Virago out in the country.

He enjoyed landscaping projects, and gardening, both flowers and vegetables, and even liked taking the fruits of his garden into the kitchen to show off his culinary skills.

In addition to being an avid fisherman, Bill liked taking whitewater-rafting trips in West Virginia, and had a soft spot in his heart for animals.

But more than all these, he most treasured spending time with his loving fiancée Sonie Rinehart of Galion, and her children Casandra Shisler and Drew Shisler.

He attended Berean Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Melvin, Sr., and Lydia Schmid, and a first cousin Juanita Gottschling.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 19, 2004 from 5-8 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home.
