William E. “Bill” Carpenter, age 84, of Howard died on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. He was born on March 14, 1928 in Columbus, son of the late George and Helen (Davis) Carpenter.

After High School, Bill studied business management at Capitol and Franklin Universities. He was a Pharmaceutical Rep for over 47 years in the Western and Southern part of Ohio for Bergen Amerisource. Bill was a volunteer and founding member of the Minerva Park Emergency Squad. He was an avid Ohio State fan and enjoyed bowling in his free time. Bill will be remembered for great sense of humor.

Bill is survived by his wife over 30 years, Naomi (Bevan) Carpenter whom he married on May 14, 1982; daughter, Michelle (Steve) Bolton; step sons, William (Ana) Compston and Tony (Brenda) Compston; grandchildren, Breighley and Blake; and step grandchildren, Michael Chad and Tyler Lee.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by infant twin brothers.

Per Bill’s request there will not be any services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knox County Humane Society, 400 Columbus Rd., Mount Vernon, OH 43050 in Bill’s memory.
