William “Bill” Martin

William “Bill” Leroy Martin, 80, of Ostrander passed away Thursday afternoon, December 21, 2017 at the Darby Glenn Care Center in Hilliard.

He was born November 16, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Harry and Edith (Tucker) Martin.

Bill was a plumber pipe fitter for Local #189 in Columbus and he was a member of the Delaware Moose Lodge and the AmVets Post #102. An avid fan of Ohio State Buckeye football, he also enjoyed golfing, telling jokes and stories and drinking Bud Light. A hard worker and provider, Bill could fix anything and he was an excellent welder.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Cheryl Marcum and her companion Neil Dopf of Delaware and William (Monica) Martin of Hilliard; grandchildren, Jessica, Zach, Kayla, and Olivia; great grandchildren, Hayden and Elena; numerous nieces and nephews, including Joyce (Bill) Yanacek who cared for Bill for several years.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers Jimmy, David and Clyde and his sisters Judy and Norma.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive (formerly 1510 W. William Street), Delaware and where funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dale George officiating. The family will then host a reception in the Snyder Rodman Community Room. Burial will be held at a later date in Newhouse Cemetery.
