Willard E. Mackey, Sr., 88, of Galion, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 at Village Care Center in Galion, after an extended illness.

Born Oct. 11, 1920 in Shelby, he was the son of the late Edgar Adam Mackey and the Lilly Margaret Burgraff Mackey. He married Christina M. Neumann Mackey on Nov. 15, 1941 who survives.

Willard was a World War II U. S. Army veteran and was a member of the Christian Biblical Church of God in Calif. He farmed all of his life and worked at General Motors Ontario/Mansfield Pant where he was an assembler.

He was a good bible student and enjoyed studying the Bible. He enjoyed his grandchildren.

Surviving are his two sons and daughters-in-law, Willard E. Mackey Jr. and Sandra J. Mackey of Galion and David L. and Rebecca Mackey of Mansfield; one daughter, Mary Margaret Montgomery of Shelby; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by five brothers.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2008 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will follow at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, with Elder Anse Cates officiating. Burial will be in Olentangy Cemetery.
