Wilber N. Fling, 94 of Ashley, died Wednesday (July 25, 2001) at his residence in Ashley.
He was born in Lancaster on May 1, 1907 to the late John and Mary (Burch) Fling. He retired in 1969 from Dennison Engineering as a Foreman with 30 years of service. He was a resident of Ashley for 56 years coming from Marengo. Founding and active member of the White Lily Chapel in Ashley. He enjoyed gardening, church, reading and jewelry making.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Margaret L. (Bonnette) Fling and they were married June 6, 1941 in Delaware. Son: Paul & Pamela Fling of Howard, CO.: Step-Son: Robert & Linda Ireland of Tucson, AZ.: 18 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.
Preceded in death by 3 Step-Sons: George, Donald, Richard Ireland. 2 Brothers and 1 Sister.
Memorial Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday (August 5, 2001) At White Lily Chapel, 20 S. Main, Ashley with Rev. Jeffry Acker officiating. No calling hours will be observed. Private interment will take place in the Ashley Union Cemetery. Arrangement in care of the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury.
