Retired Air Force Lt. Col. Wayne Edward “Chet” Morrison, 69, of Delaware and formerly of Ocean Springs, Mississippi died Tuesday morning at Grady Memorial Hospital. He was born October 29, 1939 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Thomas W. and Dorothy (Atkinson) Morrison. He retired from the United States Air Force after 27 years of serving his country, moved to Delaware 3 years ago from Ocean Springs, and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Darcy; daughters, Linda (Jimmy) Hill of Ocean Springs, Miss. and Laura (Ryan) Belyea of Clayton, NC; son, Bret (Sandy) Morrison of Pittsboro, NC; 3 stepdaughters, Dannielle Darcy of Delaware, Sheilah (Robert) Baran of Riverwoods, Illinois, and Michelle (Roger) Sponseller of Delaware; stepson, Shawn (Susan) Darcy of Hermosa Beach, CA;

9 granddaughters, Elyse and Laura Powell, Annelyse and Kayla Belyea, Darcy Rogers, Casey Stevers, Devin and Kristina Sponseller, and Rose Darcy; 5 grandsons, T.J. Morrison, Eric Sponseller, Shawn, Brian, and John Darcy; sister, Joyce Richards of S. Pasadena, CA; nephew, Thad; niece, Simone. He was preceded in death by his parents and his 1st wife Elyse. Private family services will be held at a later date. Rodman Neeper Funeral Home and Crematory, Delaware is assisting the family.
