Wavaline H. Rawson
January 20, 1921 ‒ September 21, 2013
BELLVILLE: Only an aunt can hug like a mother, keep secrets like a sister and share love like a friend. A wonderful aunt, Wavaline Rawson’s life revolved around her family, and she made it a point to shower her nieces and nephews with love and attention. A loving sister and aunt, her generous heart is now at rest. Wavaline H. Rawson, of Bellville, passed away Saturday morning, September 21, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 92.
The daughter of Roger and Ethel (Sturgeon) Adams, Wavaline was born January 20, 1921 in Pliney, West Virginia.
On October 30, 1937 she married Robert Rawson.
Wavaline worked for Essex Wire and retired after 20 years. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge, Sunny South Garden Club, and in her younger years attended Pleasant Grove Community Church.
Enjoying the outdoors, she loved bird watching, as well as gardening, both flowers and vegetables.
Her books were her best friends and Wavaline easily became lost in a good novel. Her favorites were western and ranch novels.
Devoted, family was her focus. Described as “everyone’s grandma,” Wavaline was always available for support and guidance.
She is survived by her brothers Charles (Judith) Adams and Avery (Ruth) Adams all of Bellville; close nieces Nancy Martin and Kelli King; as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Rawson; brothers Merle and Roger Adams; niece Lori Adams, nephew James Adams and great niece Michelle Megger.
