Marion, Ohio

The ORNERY and jovial Warren J. Postell, passed away peacefully at his home, in Marion, on Monday April 26, 2021.  Warren was 89 years old.

Warren was born in Marion, Ohio on June 8, 1931 to the late Frank Thelbert and Hazel Dell (DeMunn) Postell.  Warren graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1950.

Warren was a longtime employee of Whirlpool where he worked from 1962 until his retirement in 1993.  While there, he worked as an assembler, machinist and press operator.  In younger years, Warren alongside his father and brothers built many fine homes in the Marion area under Frank Postell Builders.  The last house they built together is where Warren and Imogene spent their last 40 years together.

Warren met Imogene Smith at a “Parents without Partners” event and the two were wed on November 1, 1974.  Together Warren and Imogene combined their families and made countless memories.

Warren could often be found working around his house, in the yard, or fishing for bass in his pond.  He enjoyed time spent with family around the pond and could often be found playing his guitar or harmonica.

Warren will be missed by his children, Susan (Ray) Rollison of Pickerington, Ohio, Alan (Brenda) Postell of Edison, Ohio, Thomas (Lou Anne) Turner of Georgia, Kevia Lynn (Joe) Postell of Caledonia, Ohio, and Rick (Debbie) Turner of Marion, Ohio; an angel of a sister, Norma (Bob) Ulery; and countless grand-children, great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by two children, Michael and Hyla; siblings, Thad, Phil, Junior Dale, Richard and Shirley Hill.

Friends and family are welcome to come to a celebration of Warren’s life on Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 2 until 4 pm at the family’s pond.
