Wanda L. Wilson, age 83 of Oak Hill, WV and formerly of Delaware passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 in the Charleston Area Medical Center.
Born on June 4, 1930 in London, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Maude (Diggs) Patterson. A resident of Oak Hill for the past 15 years, she retired from PPG in Delaware after working 20 years as a mixer. She joyfully served as a Jehovah Witness in the Kingdom Hall of Oak Hill. Her church work was an important part of her life.
She loved her flowers and was an avid gardener. Kind and loving, she was generous in every way. She was happiest serving the Lord and caring for her family and friends. Wanda was a wonderful, wife, mother, grandmother, and an amazing sister who will be dearly missed.
Wanda was also preceded in death by her first husband Brandy Wilson in 1988, her second husband Warren Thompson in 2011, son Russell “Rusty” Wilson in 2009, brothers Walter “Pat” Patterson in 2013, Roy Patterson in 2011,Robert Patterson in 2012, and brother-in-law Phillip Rhea Sr. in 2012.
Those whom remain to cherish her memory include her sister Gwen Rhea of Marion, grandchildren Jacquelena Wilson, Daria Wilson, Trent Willis, nieces, nephews, extended family, step-son Warren (Toni) Thompson, Michael Thompson, step-daughter Cassandra Frye, several step-grandchildren, and Thompson family nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Friday 3:00 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery, Delaware nieces, nephews, and extended family. Arrangements entrusted to Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center in Delaware.
