MANSFELD:  Wanda Bishop, age 82, of Mansfield passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021 in Glendora Heath Care Center following a long illness.

She was born March 9, 1939 in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Calvin Paul and Mary Edna (Meece) Wymer.

On November 19, 1955 she married Glen Bishop with whom she celebrated 65 years and raised their family in Mansfield.  For several years Wanda worked at Therm-O-Disc.

A member of Promised Land Fellowship, Wanda enjoyed sewing and crochet.  She was a professional bargain hunter frequenting the Goodwill in search of collectables and treasures.

She will be remembered as a pleasant person who loved everyone.  Wanda was adopted grandma to all and a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family.

She is survived by her husband Glen Bishop of Mansfield, daughter Jackie (Greg) Van Scoder of Wooster, grandchildren Becky (Jeff) Spotts, Jenny (Robbie) Workman, David (Leah Workman) Van Scoder, Heather (Mark) Myers, Holly Bishop and Aaron (Samantha) Bishop; 16 great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter; daughter- in- law Sandy Bishop of GA; and a brother Paul (Connie) Wymer of Mansfield.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved sons Glen Bishop, William “Billy” Bishop and Kenneth Bishop.

Friends may call Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 11 am- 12 pm in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service honoring the life of Wanda Bishop will follow at 12 pm.  Pastor Rick Wiseman will officiate.

  • My heart is broken again, I will always remember my Aunt Wanda as the fun loving, don’t dare her to do anything. She loved life and was up for anything. Never said no to anything. Loved our family time together over the years. She was my last aunt and I will miss her dearly. Hugs and prayers to my Uncle Glen, Jackie and family.
