Vivian C. Palmer, age 94, of Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2005, at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. She was born in Massillon, Ohio, on September 4, 1911, the daughter of the late John Burns and Ida Burris. Vivian had been an L.P.N. working for the Mount Vernon Developmental Center, and later at the Morning View Care Center in Danville. She was a member of the 7th Day Adventist City Church.

She is survived by a son Jerry Palmer of Los Angeles, California, six grandchildren; Keith (Linda) Palmer of Mount Vernon, Kerry (Georgina) Palmer of Gambier, David (Gayle) Palmer of Gambier, Jackie Austin of Indiana, Rhonda Emerson of Louisville, Kentucky and James Palmer of Louisville, Kentucky, and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons; Jim Palmer and Richard Palmer and a brother T.A. Ross.

Friends may call at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 12 at 10:00 A.M. at the Workman Cemetery.
