Virginia Marie Adams, 93, of Sunbury passed away Friday afternoon November 9, 2012 at the Wintersong Village Nursing Facility, Delaware.
She was born August 12, 1919 in Louisa, Kentucky to Charley Hale and Fannie (Ball) Hale.
She worked for Nestle, Kilgore, and Milpar and was a member of the Delaware Eagles #376 and the Sunbury VFW #8736. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a very loving mother and grandmother who always had a smile on her face and she always made sure to take your picture every time you walked through her door.
Left to cherish her memory is 4 daughters, Irene Silcox of Gibson, Tennessee, Patty Price of Delaware, Penny (Roger) Smith of Sunbury, and Roxie (Jerry) Semon of Sunbury; 13 grandchildren, Bud, Patty, Jackie, Billie Sue, Misty, Beth, Jesse, Richard, Rhonda, Kimberly, Jeanie, Joe, and Casey; 18 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special sister-in-law, Maggie Hale of Sunbury.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Isaac Adams, son Earl, granddaughter Virginia “Sis” Wallace, 5 brothers Warren, Jim, Charles, Junior, and Teddy Hale, and 2 sisters Rosa Hale and Mary Clark.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday November 14th from 5 – 8 pm at the Devore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 State Route 61, Sunbury and where funeral services will be held on Thursday November 15th at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Sunbury Memorial Park Cemetery.
