Virginia Mae Diehl, age 101, of Fredericktown, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. She was born on June 30, 1918 in Madison County, Indiana, the daughter of Archie and Eva (Bell) Stern.

Virginia worked many years for Repparts ladies clothing, Watson’s Supply Company and True Value.  She was a member of Ann Hill Chapter #81 Order of Eastern Stars in Fredericktown, American Legion Auxiliary and the Fredericktown United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son Jeff (Ellen) Diehl of Chippewa Lake, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Enrique Yanes) Diehl, Kristen (Vern Black) Diehl, Tricia Diehl and Tara Bellman; seven great grandchildren and good friends Ed and Sandy Erick of Fredericktown.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Charles Diehl; a son, Dennis Diehl; an infant son, Douglas Diehl and a brother, James Stern.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2019, beginning at 2 p.m. in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown, Ohio.  The Snyder Funeral Home of Fredericktown is honored to serve the family of Virginia Mae Diehl.

  • Jeff and families, sorry for the passing of your Mother. She lived a long life. She was a dear friend and played many cards with her. Took her rhubarb and pie, one of her favorites. Many blessing and prayers at this time of sorrow. Thanks to the neighbors and friends she had.

  • My memories of Ginny stream thru many years . Ginny was a special neighbor in our East Moundvale family neighborhood for 50 plus years.
    My early memory of her friendly smile greeting us at Watson and sharing memory of all her friend ,history of Fredericktown and love of her family. She touched our lives and will always be remembered. Her will to enjoy life and make the most of each day inspired us all.
