Virginia Caroline Rensch, 94, of Galion, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at home.

Born September 10, 1919 in Galion, she was the daughter of the late Homer F. Rensch and Hilda Plack Rensch.

Virginia graduated from Galion High School in 1936 and was a life-time member of First United Church of Christ where she was an active member of Bethany Circle and sang in the adult choir for over 60 years.

She was a 50 year member of Naomi Chapter 47, Order of Eastern Star and was a volunteer for the Crawford County Council on Aging Meals on Wheels program for many years. She was also a member of the Volunteer Service Group at Fairhaven Home in Upper Sandusky.

Virginia lived in Galion all of her life and was employed at Galion Motor Sales, Inc., the Chevrolet-Buick agency, as bookkeeper for 26 years. After the death of the dealer, she worked at Galion Dodge, Inc. for 15 years, retiring in 1985 from the law office of Petri, Hottenroth, Garverick and Tilson in Galion.

Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Patricia Rensch of Fredericksburg, Va. and Dorothy Rensch of Mt. Gilead and 14 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Decker, four brothers, Kenneth, Edward, Elwood and James Rensch, one niece and nephew.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 16, 2013 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion with Rev. Katherine Beckett, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Galion.
