Violet Marie Miller, age 89, of Galena, died peacefully on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Mt. Carmel-St. Ann’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family.  Retired Secretary at Rockwell International with 20 years of service.  Member of Galena United Methodist Church, G&T Club and Zoar Rebecca Lodge.  An avid quilter and gardener, Violet was most proud of her family and grandchildren, right down to her namesake and youngest great-granddaughter, Violet.  Preceded in death by brothers, Carl, Robert and Donald Hochradel; sisters, Shirley Hochradel and Janis Huff.  Survived by loving husband of 71 years, Estel Miller, (former teacher and principal at Big Walnut High); son, Richard (Joanne) Miller of Baltimore; daughters, Deborah (Robert) Parsons of Columbus, Sandra (Gene) Strine of Caledonia; brothers, William (Sue) Hochradel of Lancaster, James (Margaret) Hochradel of Baltimore; sister, Mary Ann Harrison of Baltimore; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  Memorial Service will be held 11am Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Galena United Methodist Church, 2777 Sunbury Road Galena, OH 43021, where the family will receive visitors following the service.  Pastor Jason Young officiating.  In lieu of flowers the family prefers contributions be made to the church in Violet’s memory.  The DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home of Sunbury is honored to serve Violet’s family.  Special memories and condolences can be shared with the family at
