BELLVILLE ~ Violet Mae Parish, 95, formerly of State Route 97 East, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in Colonial Manor, Loudonville.
She was born October 16, 1915 in Carter County, KY, to Thurston and Mary (Fannin) Erwin, and moved to the Mansfield area 65 years ago.
A 1953 graduate of the Mansfield General Hospital School of Nursing, she worked as a registered nurse with Shelby Hospital, retiring in 1981.
Violet was a member of First Christian Church, Mansfield, and enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting.
She is survived by her so n and daughter-in-law Lendon “Sonny” & Kathryn Parish of Loudonville; grandchildren Kim Campbell, Dude Parish and Sherry Dolly; great grandchildren Jessie Ann, Michael, Matthew, Douglas, Jessica, Corrinne and Andrew; great great grandchildren Dillon, Kimmie, Taylor and Ryleigh (and one on the way that will bear her name); step granddaughters Teresa and Grace; step great grandchildren Jordan, James and Chase; her sister Pansy Greer of Arizona and half-brother Ollie Patrick of Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred L. Parish on December 10, 1983. Also deceased are her daughter Betty L. Philpott; a grandson Michael Philpott and a sister Julia Hamilton.
Her funeral service will be held Friday, March 18, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. Pastor Chris Whitehead will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh. Friends may call the hour prior to the funeral.
