Viola E. DeBolt, 86, of Johnsville, Ohio died Sunday, March 6, 2005 in Morrow County Hospital.

She was born on September 11, 1917 in Monroe County, West Virginia the daughter of the late Charles Fletcher and Mary Lavie (Wall) Carper.

She was a homemaker taking care of her seven children and enjoyed gospel singing, canning, and gardening. She was also a member of the Waterford Church of Christ.

She is survived by a son James Gadd of Fredericktown, Ohio, five daughters, Rosalee Johnson of Mansfield, Ohio, Neta Cockrell of Fredericktown, Ohio, Paulette (Roger) BeMiller of Fredericktown, Ohio, Sue Welsh of Mansfield, Ohio, and Zena Smith of Columbus, Ohio, two brothers Robert Carper of Mount Vernon, Ohio and Earl Carper of Howard, Ohio, one sister Ruby Arthur of Mount Gilead, Ohio, 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 25 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Alfred Gadd in 1951, her second husband Bryant Richard DeBolt in 1984, a son Larry Gadd, three brothers Frank, Bill, and Kyle Carper, and two sisters Hallie Carper and Mimmie Bradley.

Friends may call at the Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Gilead on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Rev. Raymond Linn will conduct funeral services there on Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Northfork Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.
