Vicki L. Kearns

January 16, 1947 ‒ March 05, 2016

Mansfield, Ohio

Vicki L. Kearns, age 69, of Mansfield, passed away Saturday morning, March 5, 2016, at the Hospice of North Central Ohio facility.

She was born in Mount Vernon, OH, on January 16, 1947, to the late Clyde F. and Eileen (Fish) Eberle. Vicki graduated in 1965, with the first graduating class of Northmor High School.

On September 19, 1968, Vicki married the love of her life, Larry A. Kearns, whom preceded her in death in November of 2015. Together they shared 47 wonderful years of marriage.

For 16 years, Vicki worked during the fall and spring for Kingwood Center. She enjoyed working in the greenhouse where she could let her green thumb shine.

Vicki continued her love of plants and flowers in her home life as well. She had many flower beds, of which she knew most of the plants by their scientific names. Some of her favorites were the African violets and mini roses. Her love of the outdoors didn’t stop there. She also loved to make sure the birds were fed in the winter and often fought with the chipmunks in the summer to keep her flower bulbs.

For Vicki, family time was always important. She enjoyed walks in the woods, especially with her grandsons. Craft shows were another favorite time as she often attended them with her daughter and granddaughter. Vicki also had an eye for Carnival Glass and collected many pieces over the years.

Vicki will be dearly missed by her son, Larry (Korrie) Kearns; daughter, Lisa (Randy) Timmons; grandchildren: Nick and Mathew Kearns, Danielle and Dylan Timmons; sister: Penny (Kim) Hersman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband: parents; and infant grandson.

A private family graveside service will take place in Shauck Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Vicki’s memory to Hospice of North Central Ohio. 1050 Dauch Dr, Ashland, OH 44805.
