Vertie Castle, 80, of Broadway Street, Edison, Ohio died Sunday, March 29, 2004 in the Morrow County Hospital ECF.
She was born in Johnson County, Kentucky on January 11, 1924, the daughter of the late Ervin and Delphia Skaggs Music. She moved here in 1953 from Urbana. She worked for ITT North Electric in Galion for over 20 years until retiring. She was a member of the Edison Enterprise Baptist Church and the former Galion Local I.A.M.
She is survived by five sons Eugene and Paul Castle of Edison, Ohio, Michael Castle of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Chris Castle of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Steve Castle of Caledonia, Ohio; two daughters Wanda McClaskey of Marion, Ohio and Linda Jones of Salyersville, Kentucky; 20 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and two sisters Ethel Crider and Gertie VanHoose both of Urbana, Ohio.
Her husband Clifton Castle, whom she married on May 13, 1947, preceded her in death on April 26, 2003. A brother James Music and a sister Wahnedith Music also preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the Craven Funeral Home in Mount Gilead on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Pastor Ed Colegrove will conduct funeral services Thursday, April 1 at 1 p.m. in the Edison Enterprise Baptist Church.
