Verna Jean Gleason

BELLVILLE: Verna Jean Gleason passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013; she was 86.
Jean married Chuck Gleason on July 21, 1950 in Lexington, Ohio. In 1963 they made the move west to San Diego, California where they made their home with their two daughters Lori and Lisa. She was employed as an office manager for an insurance company until her retirement. They stayed in southern California until July 2000 when they followed their daughter Lori and her family to Taunton, Massachusetts. In 2004 they returned home to Ohio.
Jean was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed playing golf, swimming, was an accomplished Bridge player, and a member of Three Crosses United Methodist Church in Butler. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Warren “Chuck” Gleason, her parents Roy and Laola Swigart, and her brother George Swigart. She is survived by her daughters Lori Noberini and husband John of Taunton, Massachusetts, Lisa Pounds and husband Joe of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She is also survived by her brother Jack Swigart of Lexington, Ohio, grandsons John Noberini and Alex Pounds, granddaughter Lauren Noberini, and great-grandchildren Maddilyn and Hunter.
A viewing will be offered Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 6pm to 8pm at the Snyder Funeral Home at 81 Mill Rd in Bellville. Services to honor Jean’s life will be held on Friday, January 3 at 11 am at the same location with Pastor Jon Priebe officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association.
