Vern Eugene Jordan

Vern E. Jordan, age 34 of Marengo, was called to his heavenly home on Thursday morning May 12, 2011 at Morrow County Hospital Emergency Room.
He was born on Nov 10, 1976 in Mount Gilead to Vern W. and Tanya (Weber) Jordan. Vern was a 1998 graduate of Highland High School.
Vern was a story teller, he loved to tell and write short stories. Vern enjoyed going to the movies fishing, photography, music, swimming, sledding shopping and watching fireworks. Keeping up with world and local events by watching the news was a daily ritual for him, along with the weather forecast. Vern loved the holidays and had his room decorated for each one, whether it was Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Valentine’s Day and his favorite Halloween. Vern would send emails to the hosts of the shows he watched and his greatest joy was having his read from the thousands sent to Regis and Kelly. Although he may have had physical in capabilities his mental capabilities made up for them. Vern’s greatest accomplishment was going to Disney World and Sesame Street.
He is survived by his parents: Vern W. and Tanya (Weber) Jordan of Marengo; sister Ladawn Jordan of Marion; twin brother: Michael W. (Amanda) Jordan of Marengo; nephew: Caleb; soon to be niece: Lily; paternal grandmother: Mildred Stone of Cardington; maternal grandfather: Norman Weber Sr. of Sparta. Aunts, Uncles and Cousins
Preceded in death by grandparents: Gloria and John Matthews, Nancy Weber, Raymond Stone, Bruce Jordan; great grandmother: Edna Peterman, uncles: Donald Bowers, Alfred Jordan, Jack Weber.
Friends may call Saturday from 3-6 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury where services will be held Sunday 2 p.m. with Pastors Paul Staton and Jay Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in the Marengo Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Education Fund for his nephew and niece in care of the funeral home.
