Vera R. Danner, 93, of Galion, died Saturday, Apr. 19, 2008 at Carlisle House in Bucyrus where she had resided for the last two and half years.

Born Aug. 2, 1914 in Dayton, she was the daughter of the late Frank Danner and Lillian Schupple Danner.

She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1932. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church where she volunteered as an office assistant. She loved to read and watch her beloved Cleveland Indians. She also enjoyed traveling and has been in 39 of the original 48 states. For many years she worked at Galion Metalic Vault and Hercules Steel Products and its successor Peabody-Galion where she was a receptionist and switchboard operator. Prior to that she had worked at various places including Northern Ohio Telephone Co. from 1939 to 1941and North Electric Co. where she worked in assembly. Prior to that, she was a cashier at the State Theatre in Galion.

Surviving are two nieces, Carol Ann James Hoeffel of Centerville and Sharon William Davell of Dayton; six great nieces and nephews and nine great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Gaylord Danner and one sister, Miriam Wiles.

Friends may call from 12 to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Apr. 22, 2008 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Matt Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
