Vencine B. Walker, Sr., 79, of State Route 95 East, Mount Gilead, Ohio died Friday, October 14, 2005 at his home.
He was born in Kanawha, West Virginia on July 30, 1926, the son of the late James and Louisa (Jones) Walker. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Vencine drove truck for the C.F. Gill Coal Company. He was a 32nd degree Mason and belonged to the Gilead Masonic Lodge and the Aladdin Shrine Temple. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Marie (Noland) Walker, whom he married June 22, 1946; two sons Denver Walker of Mount Gilead, Ohio and Vince Walker, Jr. of Paisley, Florida; two daughters Sandra (Carl) McCoy of Johnstown, Ohio and Sharon (fiancé Don Peadon) Fisher of Mount Gilead, Ohio; five grandchildren Angie, Kelly, Shannon, Terri, and Adam; five great grandchildren Adam, Damion, Kyle, Hannah and Makala; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call at the Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Gilead on Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held there Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville. Condolences may be expressed to his family at www.snyderfuneralhomes.com .
