Vaughn K. “Butch” Parker, age 56, of Mount Vernon, died Sunday March 24, 2002 at his residence following an extended illness. Vaughn was born July 14, 1945 in Knox County to Robert Parker and Grace (Harris) Parker Little and had spent his lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. Vaughn served with the US Army from 1962 to 1968. He had been employed as a salvage man at the Fischer Body Division of General Motors in Ontario for 26 years.
Surviving are his wife Patricia (Frazee) Parker; his stepfather Rex Little of Mount Vernon; brothers Alan (Alberta) Little of Bellville, Les (Debbie) Little and John Little all of Mount Vernon, Charles Parker and Gary Parker of Ohio, Robert Parker of Virginia, Steve Parker of Florida and Michael Parker of Arizona; and sister Sherri Parker of Florida; and brother-in-law Donald Peck of Mount Vernon; uncle Jack Parker of Mount Vernon, and nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Judy (Parker) Newton Litzenberg Peck.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where funeral services will be Wednesday at 11AM, with Rev. Kenneth Miller officiating. Burial with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will be in Mound View Cemetery.
