Twila June Maiden, age 78 of Delaware died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, June 18, 2003 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

She was born on June 2, 1925 in Centerburg, Ohio to the late John E. and Mildred M. (Male) Walden. Graduate of Willis High School and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from The Ohio State University.

Twila had worked as a registered nurse since 1955 at one time for Jane Case Hospital, Grant Hospital, Ohio State University Hospital, Delaware Court Nursing Center, retired from the Columbus Public Schools, and was currently employed with Sun Home Health.

Member of Second Baptist Church, she enjoyed knitting, cross stitching, reading, classical music, old movies, and sports, especially her favorite sports teams the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Browns.

Survived by Son: John Maiden of Delaware, Special Nephew: Ernest Paul Sharp of Delaware, Sisters: Beulah Mitchell of Delaware, Donna Brooks of Columbus, Shirley Sharpe of Oceanside, CA, Brother-in-law: Carthel “Bummy” Ransaw of Delaware, Very Special Friend: Ray Schultis of Parma, former husband: Cullen Maiden of Germany, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Brother: Ernest L. Walden in 1996 and Sister: Phyllis Ransaw in 1999.

Private services will be held for the family and calling hours will not be observed. DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Delaware are assisting the family with arrangements.
