Trevelyn Lucile Tavan, 83, of Galion died unexpectedly Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Galion Community Hospital.

Born Aug. 14, 1924 in Galion, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert A. Plack and Ila White Plack. She was preceded in death on Feb. 5, 2005 by her husband, U. Beckley Tavan whom she married on July 11, 1954.

She was a member of First United Church of Christ in Galion and Bethany Circle and Dorcas Group both at church. She was chief operator for the former Northern Ohio Telephone Company and GTE retiring in 1993 as a service observer.

Surviving are her two step daughters and one step son-in-law, Patty Lowry of Glouster and
Betty and Ken Combs of Irving, Texas; ten grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three great -great grandchildren and many cousins including, Jean Plack and Virginia Rensch, both of Galion.

She was preceded in death by one step son, Robert Tavan.

Friends may call from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 8, with Rev. Samuel J. Buehrer officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2008 at Beale Chapel Cemetery in Apple Grove, W. Va.
