Thomas W. Bebout, age 83, of Mount Vernon, died Monday August 12, 2002 at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. Thomas was born November 7, 1918 in Knox County to Russell R. and Pearl D. (Horn) Bebout and had spent his lifetime in the Knox County area. He served with the U S Army during World War Two. Tom was a tailor by trade and had been employed in Mount Vernon at Worley’s Men’s Wear, Uhlmans Department Store and then had done custom tailoring privately.

Tom was a member of the American Legion in Mount Vernon and the Station Break Senior Citizens Club in Mount Vernon where he was a member of the Bell Choir.

Surviving two nieces Lois E. Hunter of Mount Vernon and Jean B. Cline of Fredericktown and a nephew Robert C. Veatch of Mount Vernon and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 4 sisters Lena B. Veatch, Josephine Sapp, I. Eunice Schooley and Clara Marjorie Bebout; and three brothers Frank H. Bebout, Robert Bebout and Lyman Bebout.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where funeral services will be Thursday at 10 AM with Rev. Jamie Gump officiating. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
