BELLVILLE: Thomas H. Campbell, 78, formerly of Bellville died February 10, 2006 in his Silver Springs, Florida residence following a long illness.

Thomas was born April 5, 1927 in Sandusky to Thomas J. and Bertha (Armstrong) Campbell. He attended Mansfield Senior High School before serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was retired from Westinghouse, after 40 years of service as a polisher on the washer production line.

Mr. Campbell was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, life member and past commander of the Irvin Hisky Post #535 American Legion, Bellville, and a former member of the Robert L. Castor Post #5101 VFW.

Thomas was married in September of 1990 to Velma (Carpenter) Campbell who survives. Together they have made their home in Silver Springs.

In addition to his wife, Velma, he is survived by a son, James Campbell of Silver Springs: two step daughters and their husbands, Nada and Darrell Decker of Englewood, Florida and Delinda and Chuck Spoon of Bellville; step son Steve Lakes of Mansfield; grandchildren Jason Decker, Jeremy Decker, Justin Decker, Jennifer Decker, Jim Spoon and Cari Spoon; three great grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Margaret Harner of Mansfield.

Thomas was preceded in death by wives Margaret Campbell,

Norma (Meade) Campbell and sisters Norma VanLuhm and Alberta Davis.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, Friday March 3, 2006, prior to a 2 pm memorial service in celebration of Thomas’ life. Irvin Hisky Post #535 American Legion will conduct military honors. Pastor Dwight Stryker will officiate.

Memorial contributions to Jefferson Township-Bellville Rescue Squad may be made through the funeral home.
